“My Husband has a life limiting illness. He was advised to take regular exercise but with Consideration to his age & neuropathy. He cannot stand for long & suffers discomfort. He attends a chair based class. 

His illness has also meant a reduced mental capacity, so cannot be left alone. I am wary of who I leave him with. Suzina was recommended by our local hospice as being knowledgable on what exercise he could do and safe to leave him with. This has certainly been true for the 18 months that he has attended.

Suzina is a ball of energy, cheerful and positive. She has the attendees doing their exercises to safely push themselves if able to, ensuring everyone gets their best out of the class. She clearly explains the benefit of each exercise & guides them through each one.

My Husband's balance, flexibility & strength have improved & Suzina is now encouraging him to attend a more advanced balance class.  

I'm happy to leave him for the hour, knowing he is in safe hands.

At 88 I joined Suzina's chair based exercise. Since then I have become fitter whilst having fun. I've met friendly like mind people. Oh and once a month we get tea and biscuits after class!

At 82 Suzina's U3A Simple Fitness class has become a very important fixture in my schedule. She has a warm and friendly manner and explains not just the technique of each exercise but its benefit to us in our daily lives; maintain muscle, step up onto the bus, getting up from a chair more easily etc. Most exercises can be carried out in sitting or standing, so suits all levels.

Suzina has been my Personal Trainer for 10 years having begun working with her in my late 60s. 

I have found her knowledgeable about the needs of her older clients and sensitive to individual health issues when devising their programmes. She explains why we do each exercise and is always encouraging. She is cheerful and down to earth and I enjoy our conversations as we exercise.

Over the years I have come to regard her as a friend as well as a Personal Trainer.

Suzina has been training me for over 10 years now! Originally I was seeking weight bearing exercises for my bones and improving my core. Now in my sixties I am stronger than ever and continue progress to heavier weights.  Suzina is consistently upbeat, motivational, informative and, importantly, fun.  My weekly sessions keep me supple and strong and I hope to continue this as I age with Suzina's expert help.

As someone who taught myself, for over 30 years, I can say that Suzina is an excellent class instructor. She persuades older people, keen to hang onto what mobility they still have, to exercise and keep going. She makes the exercise relevant to their daily challenges eg getting up from a chair, getting on the bus, in and out of a car, opening jars etc. She is also aware of the social effect of her classes and so we enjoy a chat over a hot drink afterwards.
